Awesome Toy Collection – Year End Showhand 2016

Hello world! 2016 has drawn to a close, and I’m back with my Year End Showhand, showcasing items from my awesome toy collection that I had acquired over the course of the year or even earlier.

In fact, let’s go all out Marvel for this showhand. Specifically MCU.

Being a Marvel fan, I have collected many of the 3.75″ figures that were released in conjunction with each Marvel Cinematic Universe movie. In most cases I collect only the figures that made an actual onscreen appearance, and I avoid the figures in variant outfits that do not appear in the movie. These fruitcake variants are usually released by toy companies as a marketing ploy, to grab more money from the completist collectors. There are some exceptions, such as when other characters from the comic books are also released together with the movie figures.

My acquisitions for the movie “Thor”.

Acquisitions for “Captain America: The First Avenger”. Captain Britain, US Agent, Winter Soldier, and Crossbones, are examples of the comic books figures released, when they didn’t actually appear in the movie.

My acquisitions for “Marvel’s The Avengers”.

My “Iron Man 3” figures, except for the unmasked War Machine, who is an unreleased “Iron Man 2” figure.

“Thor: The Dark World” had only five figures. No figure was released for Malekith, leader of the Dark Elves.

I’ve acquired these “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” figures. Red Skull belongs to the first Captain America movie, it is a new sculpt and better resembles the onscreen appearance than the previous figure. I don’t think that silver-blue shield appeared in TWS.

Let’s skip “Guardians of the Galaxy” as the figures released for that film were 2.5 inch sized, not my usual interest of 3.75 inch.

My figures for “Avengers: Age of Ultron”. Hawkeye is from the first Avengers movie, while Thor comes from “Thor: The Dark World”. Hulkbuster is a bootleg.

Ant-Man and his ant “Anthony” !

Rival sides for “Captain America: Civil War”

You know what? Let’s not skip “Guardians of the Galaxy” after all.

The Guardians of the Galaxy. Yeap, these are the comic book versions.

Here’s looking forward to “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2”.

And on that note, Goodbye 2016! Hello 2017!

Just one more:
