Star Wars Collecting – Bounty Hunters

Hi world! I’ve recently developed an interest in collecting Hasbro 3.75″ Star Wars figures and, let’s just say that I’ve turned to the dark side and have decided to dramatically expand upon my collection of Star Wars figures, buying the ones that I’m interested in.

This pique in interest actually stems from my concern that the until now released figures are getting harder to find, and as future waves of figures will more likely be based on characters from the new movies instead of from the original and prequel trilogies, now is probably the last chance for me to acquire the Star Wars figures of my interest if I were ever to get them, if they can still be found.

On the bright side, I’m more or less keeping to my pledge of not to collect figures from the newer Disney era Star Wars movies, save for Han and Leia and one or two others.

Here’s a couple of denizens from “The Empire Strikes Back”:

Bounty hunters: Dengar, IG-88, Boba Fett, Bossk, 4-LOM, Zuckuss

When the Millennium Falcon slips from the Empire’s clutches yet again, Darth Vader decides to hire the services of bounty hunters to capture the Millennium Falcon and her crew.

“… I want them alive. No disintegrations.”

Dengar is a cybernetically enhanced bounty hunter who held a grudge against Han Solo, who he blames for causing the accident which disfigured him. Dengar had just been captured by the Empire for his illicit activities, but Darth Vader offers him a reprieve in return for his services to hunt down the Millennium Falcon.

IG-88 is an assassin droid who had somehow gained “sentience programming”, he is actually one of four identical droids, together they escaped from Empire custody and took control of a droid production facility. To hide their true operations, IG-88 decides to pursue a career as a bounty hunter as a cover.

Boba Fett has a reputation as being one of the galaxy’s deadliest bounty hunters. The clone son of the infamous bounty hunter Jango Fett, Boba is highly skilled in combat and weaponry, and it is said that one of his favorite technique was to disintegrate his enemies.

A Trandoshan bounty hunter, Bossk is renowned and feared for his prowess at killing Wookiees. Bossk held a vendetta against Chewbacca and Han Solo, as the duo had previously destroyed Bossk’s ship during one of their encounters.

4-LOM (left) was a former protocol droid who, because of logic glitches and personality software corruption, was able to override his programming and become a bounty hunter. He is often partnered with Zuckuss (right), a Gand bounty hunter renowned for his ability to track down his hidden quarry.

And here I tangentially veer off into the awesomely cute Star Wars Galactic Heroes universe! Here’s a picture of the assembled bounty hunters, each one a Galactic Heroes counterpart!

There will be a substantial reward for the one who finds the Millennium Falcon. You are free to use any methods necessary, but I want them alive…”

“No disintegrations.”
“As you wish.” *grumble*
