Custom MCU Figures – Ronin & Hawkeye (“Avengers: Endgame”)

Hi world! This will be a double showcase for today as I present two versions of Clint Barton as he appeared in “Avengers: Endgame”. [Again… spoilers ahead!]

First up: “Avengers: Endgame” Ronin –

Having retired from active service and currently serving out his house arrest, Clint Barton was looking forward to a picnic with his family at his homestead when his wife and children suddenly vanished, driving Barton into despair. Unknown to Barton, his family had been snapped out of existence by Thanos, who used the Infinity Stones to wipe out half of all life in the universe. Devastated by his loss, Barton made it his mission to unleash vengeance against any criminals who had survived the Snap, believing that they are unworthy of staying alive when so many innocent victims did not. Donning a new suit and embracing a grim outlook on life, Barton has become… the Ronin.

Recipe:
Head, arms, waist, legs – MU Ronin
Torso, skirt – Han Solo (Hoth Outfit) from “Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back”
Hood – Luke Skywalker (Jedi Exile) from “Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi”
Scabbard – Cut from backpack of Storm Shadow (v33) from “G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra”
Sling – Cut from quiver of MU Hawkeye
Swords – Storm Shadow (v43) from “G.I. Joe: Retaliation”
Knife and sheath – Bought from Marauder Task Force

While looking for a suitable torso to use for Ronin, I came across Hoth Outfit Han Solo and I felt that his jacket can be modified to resemble that of Ronin’s suit. The holster was cut off and the skirt was trimmed at its sides, and epoxy putty was used to sculpt a bit of the skirt at the front. The arms were transplanted over to the torso, and the overall figure was painted in semi-gloss black with gold highlights.

The eyes and parts of the face were painted on the head, together with black and gold highlights.

“You shouldn’t be here.”

Next up: “Avengers: Endgame” Hawkeye –

Five years after the Snap, the Ronin had just eliminated a Yakuza faction in Tokyo, when Clint Barton became aware of the presence of Natasha Romanoff, who had come to recruit Barton for a plan to return everyone killed in the Snap, including Barton’s family. When Scott Lang lost his nerves while preparing for the time travel test run, Barton volunteered for the test, and Barton was briefly returned to the past at his homestead. Barton heard his children’s voices and he tried to reach them before he was returned back to the present. Having proven that it was possible to time travel to the past to retrieve the Infinity Stones and therefore there was hope for him to reunite with his family again, Barton suits up once more as Hawkeye as he prepares for his assigned mission with Natasha, to find the Soul Stone at the planet Vormir.

Recipe:
Head – Custom cast head from Glassman, slightly modified
Torso, arms, upper legs, quiver, bow – Hawkeye from “The Avengers”
Lower legs, knees – MU Ronin
Scabbard and sword – XMOW Deadpool
Knife and sheath – Purchased from Marauder Task Force

The custom cast head was modified by sanding down the hair on the sides to give Hawkeye the Mohawk hairstyle that he wears in the movie. MU Ronin’s lower legs were transplanted to Hawkeye’s upper legs by first using a dremel to deepen the bottom sockets of the upper legs, and then pasting the lower legs (cut at above the knees) at the deepened sockets, using epoxy to glue them in place.

A wristbow was sculpted on the left lower arm, and a Time-Space GPS was painted on paper and pasted onto the left hand.

The scabbard-quiver was created by replacing the left side of the quiver with one of Deadpool’s scabbard.
