Custom MCU Figures – Shang-Chi & Xialing (“Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”)

Hi world! Today we have a double showcase of MCU Shang-Chi and MCU Xialing from the film “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” :

Shang-Chi and Xialing are the children of Xu Wenwu, the legendary leader of the Ten Ring terrorist organization. Following the death of his wife at the hands of his enemies, Wenwu returned to an active role leading the Ten Rings, and he had Shang-Chi trained to be a highly skilled warrior. While Xialing was not allowed to train together with the assassins, she also secretly learns the martial arts based off of observation from the side. Eventually both Shang-Chi and Xialing will separately escape from the Ten Rings, with Shang-Chi leading a new life in the United States, and Xialing moving to Macau where she sets up a fight club but still harboring a resentment against her brother for escaping without her. The siblings were soon reunited however, when Wenwu launches a new effort to conquer the mythical village of Ta Lo, and he tracks down both of them as they had in their possession something that he needed to unlock Ta Lo’s secret location.

Both custom Shang-Chi and Xialing were made from MTF bodies, with the patterns on the torso created by painting with thin masking tape. I am taking some creative license here – in the film, the sleeves stretch down to the elbows and the shirts are tucked out. But no satisfactory way was found to replicate those designs on the customs, so the torso and arms were left as-is. Additional hair was sculpted with epoxy putty on the Bultar Swan cast head to create the fringe.
